Support Assistant

At RSS Technology Solutions, we take pride in supporting our teams with timely, efficient, and professional technical coordination. We are currently seeking a Support Assistant to join our Helpdesk team at our Blankenbaker location. This role is critical in ensuring smooth communication, accurate service order management, and a seamless customer support experience.
As a Support Assistant, you will serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls and email inquiries related to technical support. Working closely with the Helpdesk team, you’ll triage requests, create and manage service orders (SOs), and direct issues to the appropriate internal resources. This role demands a balance of technical aptitude, calm professionalism, and quick-thinking customer prioritization. Your ability to learn and adapt to a wide range of technologies will be essential to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls and email requests, identifying the nature and urgency of each inquiry.
- Create and enter service orders based on call and email input.
- Direct support requests to appropriate Helpdesk or technical team members.
- Triage emergency vs. non-emergency requests effectively.
- Coordinate with HR, Sales representatives, and internal teams for issue resolution.
- Manage internal communications efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain clear records of service orders and resolutions.
- Collaborate with the Helpdesk team while maintaining independence in phone handling.

Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a fast-paced support role; quick service restaurant (QSR) background is preferred.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude; capable of learning and understanding multiple support systems and tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in both a cubicle and warehouse environment.
- Previous experience handling switchboard or triage-style support preferred.
