Hands-on Work, real problem solving;
A role where you can make things work better every day.
We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician who enjoys figuring things out, fixing equipment, and keeping operations running smoothly. If you like hands-on work, variety in your day, and being the person others rely on when something breaks, this role is a strong fit.
You don’t need to come from a specific industry; what matters most is your mechanical ability, your willingness to learn, and your ability to troubleshoot and get things working again.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a key role in keeping production and facility equipment running safely and efficiently:
Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtime
Keep accurate maintenance logs and repair records
Assist with equipment installs, upgrades, and modifications
Identify safety issues and help correct them
Support general facility maintenance as needed
Help production teams solve equipment-related issues on the floor
Track and maintain spare parts inventory and order supplies when needed
Look for ways to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
What We’re Looking For
Required
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of hands-on maintenance or repair experience in any field (examples: manufacturing, construction, facilities, automotive, equipment repair, or similar)
Preferred (Not Required)
Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
Technical training or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical Systems, Welding, or similar
Experience working with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems
Preventive maintenance or equipment reliability experience
Experience with forklifts, lifts, or other industrial equipment
Background in building materials, wood products, or related industries
What You Bring
Strong mechanical instincts and problem-solving ability
Comfort working with tools and troubleshooting equipment issues
Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks or priorities
Willingness to jump in and support production when needed
Attention to safety and detail in all work
Ability to read basic manuals, diagrams, or instructions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, maintenance tracking systems)
Why This Role Works
This is a role for someone who likes:
Fixing things instead of sitting at a desk
Seeing the impact of your work immediately
Learning how equipment actually works
Being trusted to solve real problems
Working in a team that values reliability and follow-through
Work Environment
You’ll work in a mix of office and production environments, including time on the manufacturing floor, yard, and receiving areas. The job involves working around equipment, forklifts, and moving materials.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Some exposure to non-temperature-controlled areas
Full-time schedule with occasional overtime based on production needs
Thrive is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
